Prevention of Disease Transmission:

Workshop offers an overview of how diseases are transmitted and steps that can be taken to reduce risks.

Course length: about 2-4 hours

This workshop is ideal:

  • For those who want  to reduce illness in a work/school setting or know what to do in the event of contamination.

The course covers:

  • What is an infection?
  • How are infections transmitted?
  • Precautions for all forms of transmission.
  • Creating a "Disease Exposure Control Plan."
  • Guidelines for prevention in specific settings.
  • What you need for a Bio-hazardous Material Kit
  • Housekeeping, infectious waste, personal laundry.
  • Personal notes for prevention at home and while traveling.
  • What if?
  • Exposure reporting and medical follow-up.
