Algonquin Canoe Trip with 31st London Medvents

Aug. 16-19, 2011

Our Route...

On the way, morning of the 16th...

Stayed at Achray Campground on the 16th... Clam doing circles, paddling & sunset

Missed the portage to Stratton Lake... ended up at the one to Caracajou - a bit of fast water and nice falls though

Back on track, on the way to Stratton Lake

Portage to St. Andrew's Lake...shallow water, rocks and snakes. Pulled the canoes through

St. Andrew's site...third site on the left after the portage - nice site, more snakes, lots of frogs

High Falls... gorgeous spot, a 'must see' for anyone in the area - swimming, jumping, waterslides, a shower and more!

Portage from St. Andrew's to High Falls Lake... plants, rocks, turtle and frog meets snake

Site on Opalescent Lake... second on the left after the portage, nice site especially for a smaller group

Portage at Brigham Chute... longest one we did. Small falls, lots of ups and downs

Barron Canyon... go figure - lots more rocks. Highest point about 100m above water

Barron Canyon Rappelling & Swim... tough climb, fun rappel. Nothing but water so had to land in canoe!

Barron Canyon site... water bottle from poison ivy patch, naps, bugs and frogs

Squirrel Rapids exit...
